How many cars still have port injection?

This was on my mind for a while, so what the hell. Everything is green now, and GDI and GTDI is the norm. So what cars still use some form of port injection to make miniature explosions?

Literally, I can only think of three new “affordable” cars that use this:

Kinja'd!!!

Mustang GT

Kinja'd!!!

Any V8 Challenger or Charger

These are the cheapest cars that come to mind with port injection of some kind.

As for expensive cars:

Kinja'd!!!

The Viper

Kinja'd!!!

Aventador

Kinja'd!!!

I only say Huracan, because it has both port and direct injection

Since I’ve been thinking about the one bad con of direct injection (carbon buildup), I think I’d like my next car to not have that con, one day.

Any other cars I’m missing?

I remember 10 years ago when the Lexus IS350 came out, I was all WUT? face when I saw they way the used port AND direct injection! Such neat tech totally underrated Because not German

Aventador. Probably tons of cheap stuff. The old (current?) Renault Mégane RS (actually the engine in this is somewhat closely related to the engine in a Clio Williams from 23 years ago).

I don’t understand why more cars don’t use both port and direct injection at the same time. Is it not the best of both worlds?

A lot of Toyota use a Port and Direct injection. The new ugly Bentley SUV does too. I think the GM 1.4 in the Cruze/Sonic/Trax still strictly uses port injection too.

Chevy SS, 300, Nissan GT-R, and probably a lot of cars that you would never realize.

it helped with cold starts very efficiently and for power curves (during VVT ?) I asked a rep but I don’t remember what he told me. T’was forever ago

The Tacoma has direct and port injection, and I’m pretty sure all of FCA’s line up is port injection.

The SS and 300 make sense because ‘Murica and LS3 and 5.7 Hemi, but GTR?? I would’ve never guessed.

Yep, sequential multi-port injection on both the 1.4T and 1.8 NA

Tons... Direct injection is still relatively rare. My FRS has both port and direct injection. That Toyota system is on several of their cars

Subaru FA (in the BRZ) is port-and-direct, FB (everything else) is port. I believe the EZ (H6) is port too

We had to replace the injector rails for a tech bulletin, not difficult at all. Does require a special tool for those dang Teflon seals

The paper I read said that normally you can only optimize port injection for low or high rpm depending on the swirl in the intake. Using direct gives them better fuel vaporization at low rpm

I’d kinda understand the GT-R because the technology has been around for so long that it’s foolproof.

The Shelby GT350 does not use direct injection either.

Edit: Other cars using port injection: STI, Evo X

Don’t forget the STI since it still uses the old EJ25 engine.

FA20F (2.0DIT in Forester XT, WRX) and FB16E (1.6DIT available overseas in the Levorg) are straight direct injection.

The EE20D also has direct injection, but that doesn’t count for this discussion...

The FR-S/BRZ/GT86/etc... use port AND direct injection...
...because SIDEWAYS, that’s why. And efficiency or some shit, but screw that.

If it makes you feel better, driving the car in a spirited fashion on a regular basis helps negate carbon buildup. As a 335i owner I know the fear well but still have clean valves after 75k miles.

Every Chrysler engine uses port injection if that counts. EVERY ONE!!! They seem to be late to the technology party on about everything but infotainment.
